The state INTUC president Mr Dipak Roy who defied the party whip and presented a deputation to chief minister Manik Sarkar had assured them that they will find their due place in Nagerjala. But when nothing of this sort materialized the INTUC affiliated auto rickshaw owners had no other option but to organize a road bloackde4 at Nagerjala today. They sat down and later fell flat along NH – 44 stalling all South bound traffic from Battala today. They had only one demand that they be given a chance to operate their autos on routes they have got due permits. They also stated that the CITU affiliated members had prevented them from operating their auto rickshaw from the Nagerjala stand .They mentioned that they had valid permits issued from the state transport department.
They alleged that nowhere in India does such type of inhuman acts are carried out in the name of trade unionism. The Office in Charge of West Agartala police station Mr Babul Das rushed to the spot soon after being informed of the road blockade. It was due to his best of efforts that the road blockade of the agitating drivers and auto owners were withdrawn. Some of them mentioned of their pitiful economic condition after the so called CITU leaders enforced a ban on their plying their vehicles from the Nagerjala stand.
