Renowned Ghazal singer Pankaj Udhas who arrived here today to perform live in the cultural extravaganza organized by Waris Finance International Limited has predicted a bleak future for hindi music industry in the days to come. Speaking exclusively with TRIPURATODAY.com he said that he feels from his experience that in the coming days individual singers will be coming on top. Being from the same genre of singers like Jagjit Singh and Anup Jalota this singer who launched his first album way back in 1980 said that in the near future live concert will become the order of the day. With regards to film music he mentioned that while following Hollywood the duration of hindi films are becoming shorter and hence there will not be any place for songs.
He announced of his plans to launch two albums “ Daag “ and one comprising songs composed by Ahmed Farz in the period March – June. His one daughter is receiving his full backing for the launch of the first full fledged music awards of the country in the days to come. Both my daughters are musically inclined but I did not force them to become singers, he further added. He lamented over the plight of the ghazal singers and mentioned how television as a medium always promoted the film songs only. He recalled his earlier visit to the state in 1986 when he had performed in town hall.
