By Our Correspondent
Agartala, 30/07/2010
Good news for army and central paramilitary force personnel deployed in Tripura and entire North East. The UPA government at the centre has started a air service from Agartala, Aizwal and Imphal airport to Kolkata . From now on the army and paramilitary force jawans from the rest of the country will be able to fly to and from this region free of cost. The service has started from last Wednesday. The aim is to facilitate movement of troops from operational areas to major rail stations. Assam Rifles has been designated as the nodal agency to coordinate the service in the North East. BSF, CRPF and CISF personnel deployed in the state will also be able to take full benefit of this newly launched facility. The jawans of different army and paramilitary forces have hailed the decision taken by the central government.
