IOC DGM gives promises galore

With a view to maintain huge buffer stock in the state especially for petro-products as petrol, kerosene and diesel, construction work is to start within next two months. Besides, Bishalgarh bottling plant will start functioning in double phase and IOC will release fresh LPG connection in the state from next month. Mr. A. Pradhan, DGM of the Indian Oil Corporation informed this after holding a meeting with the Chief Minister Mr Manik Sarkar, Chief Secretary Mr S K Panda, Food and Civil Supplies Minister of the state Mr Manik De yesterday.



Mr. Pradhan including four other members of IOC official arrived here in the state yesterday and said, “We have seen the project area. After obtaining the statutory clearance from the state government, which is expected to take maximum 2 months, the necessary construction work for the project will be started. Describing about the project he said the construction work will take 30 months and the estimated cost of the project has been fixed about Rs. 12 crore. It is mentionable here that the land has been selected for this project at Raghunathbari area of Champaknagar. The project is expected to create a fuel buffer stock for at least 6 months in the state as well as to increase the storage facility for LPG. DGM of IOC further informed that more new LPG cylinders will be released from the next month in the state replacing the old cylinders. ‘IOC is also trying to install retail outlets or full fledged petrol pumps in the rural areas of the state’, he opined. Speaking over the present situation of shortage in case of LPG in the state he opined ‘NH-44 always has the problems-sometimes due to natural calamity and sometime due to some other problems. The crisis will be mitigated as soon as the four lane process gets over. Only small LPG bullets are being sent through NH-44 now. Higher capacity bullets will be sent as soon as the four-lane process gets over.’ On the other hand, environment friendly petroleum fuel ‘Bharat Stage-III’ will also be launched in the state from October 01 next. It is mentionable here that the super-specialty fuel has already been launched in West Bengal and eastern part of the country.
