Manik concerned over poor state of Bidi workers

Labour minister Mr Manik De today expressed concerned over the poor state of bidi workers in the state. Addressing a seminar at Pragna bhavan attended by delegates from the sub division level he said that the state government has laid special emphasis in order to make sure that the children from the families of the bid workers get educated in the days to come. The nation can only develop only if we educate people from the downtrodden sections of society. Besides education health also remains an area of concern and the focus is to include the families under the health scheme, he stated.

He said within the next two months the ambit of this scheme. He also said that he wants at least 2000 petitions from the various bidi workers across the state within the next three months . This should be done in order to make sure that they can reap the benefits of all the central schemes available for their benefit. Among others Mr M K Nath, labour commissioner and number of CITU leaders were also present on the occasion.
