Two days after NSUI’s visit, Students Federation of India has approached to the Vice chancellor of Tripura Central University Prof. Arunoday Saha followed by a protest rally at his office, Suryamaninagar demanding modification in three years degree course (1+1+1) system this afternoon. Terming the system as black spot, a 7 member delegation led by State’s Asst. secretary Arindam Biswas has met Prof. Saha & presented deputation demanding further modification in this regard & sought lessening the marks percentage in review system. Raising their concern, the delegation has strongly advocated for re- examination within three months for the students who failed to pass to the Vice chancellor. Speaking to www.tripuratoday.com, Mr. Biswas has claimed that the Vice chancellor had agreed to the raise demands & assured that the University Authority headed by Executive council will look into the matter within coming two- three days. Though he did not mention any particular date, added the SFI leader.
If the University Authority fails to fulfill the demands, the organization will move further with set of protest agendas for the sake of the students, warned the SFI activists. The organization also raised its voice of protest against the ongoing education system, infrastructure of this Central University & criticized the Authority for such anti student policy & non serious attitude. Meanwhile, SFI units of every degree colleges have given deputation to the principals in support of its demands & also organized protest activities to make the movement fruitful one as informed the state leaders. Sources said, today around 3 PM, the vice chancellor has convened a meeting at his office with top officials to review the demands placed by the rival student unions. Though, no suitable alternatives have been found as yet through this first phase meeting, added the source. Mentionably, recently introduced 1+1+1 system Comprising of back paper in part I should be cleared in part II to promote in part III. If the students get back in part I & unable to clear it in part II considered as fail & have to take admission again in part I.
