India 356/3 against Bangladesh at Stumps on Day 1

Opener Murali Vijay and captain Virat Kohli punished Bangladesh with contrasting centuries which led India to 356 for 3 on the first day of the one-off Cricket Test in Hyderabad today. Vijay combined with Cheteshwar Pujara in a 178-run partnership, seamlessly took charge of the innings.This was fifth century partnership between Pujara and Vijay this home season and eighth overall.

Kohli who remained unbeaten at 111 registered his 16th Test century. He now has a Test hundred against every opposition he has played against.Pujara today eclipsed Chandu Borde's five decade old national record of most runs by an Indian in a single season when he reached his personal score of 83. Borde had scored 1,604 runs in the 1964-65 season.
