Davis Cup: Leander & Vishnu to take on Michael Venus & Artem Sitak of NZ

In Tennis, Leander Paes and Vishnu Vardhan will take on Michael Venus and Artem Sitak of New Zealand in the Asia/Oceania Group I tie in Pune today. For the 18-time Grand Slam champion Leander Paes, this will be his 55th Davis Cup tie. He is tied with Italy's Nicola Pietrangeli on 42 doubles wins. A victory today will make Paes the most successful doubles player ever in Davis Cup history.

India has taken a 2-0 lead against New Zealand in the tournament. Yuki Bhambri and Ramkumar Ramanathan eked out superb victories in the Singles matches on the opening day yesterday, to hand India a commanding lead in the 5-match tie. While Bhambri defeated Finn Tearney, 6-4, 6-4, 6-3, Ramanathan beat Jose Statham, 6-3, 6-4, 6-3. The Reverse Singles matches will be played tomorrow.
