CPI(M) to go on mass campaign in West Bengal

CPI (M) West Bengal unit has emphasized on tenacious campaign in the state by the Left activists, campaigning rigorously  on livelihood issues.  In the Month of September, the Party has also decided to conduct district wise mass rallies focusing on working class issues and on regional demands. The pre cursor of these mass rallies will be Two Month long intense People connect campaign throughout the state, in the month of August and September.It can be recalled that CPI (M)  West Bengal State Committee met in a two day long meeting, in Kolkata at Muzaffar Ahmad Bhawan, which was presided over by veteran communist leader Biman Basu. 

The Party State Committee members reporting in the meeting also ointed out towards the various perspective regarding to organizational lacuna ,however informed that despite the electoral reverses, party activists are  very much with the people  ,forging many ground level  and intense mass mobilization campaign  in the interest of working class population of the state .  Speaking in the meeting  CPI(M) West Bengal State Secretary  Suryakanta Mishra insisted on conducting protracted campaign  in the state  to especially reconnect with those people  ,who in the last Loksabha election has swayed from  Left  and had voted for the BJP or the TMC. There is no reason to conclude that their electoral posture is permanent in nature.

He also recounted in the meeting that in many terror hit places in the state, in the post poll situation, party programmes initiated even in those places  has got wide popular support. He also quipped that the make-believe hard identity based narrative of the BJP will be soon counter-productive. In this situation the immediate task for the Leftists are to tenaciously pursue the livelihood issues and to gain strength, based on that. He also called on to augment the independent strength of the party and collaterally to forge unity amongst the broad left, in order to accumulate  all the Anti BJP and Anti TMC opposition, under a Single platform.

CPI(M) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury  ,who too was present, in his speech in the meeting pointed out that  after its inauguration, from its very onset ,the Modi 2 Government , is coming down fiercely on the  Indian Constitution ,  Constitutional institutions and on civil rights. The bills now being passed in haste, all are directed towards curbing of civil rights in the country, he commented. It also indicates a more fanged attack of the Sangh Pariwar. Under these difficult circumstances, the Left has to embark on the work of restoring peoples mandate towards them. He also marked that the onus in West Bengal should be to break the makeshift bipolar antics & bipolarization, by forging up an alternative political narrative.

He reminded that the Leftists are the real heir to the famed Bengal Renaissance, and the values of that renaissance should be reinstated in the state.  Intense People Connect efforts should be undertaken he marked, and underlined that to attain this objective, apart from interpersonal relation,even social platforms should be favourably used. He also harped that on issues centered on the question of communalism and restoration of democracy, broad based platforms should be worked out in the state
