Tripura reels under unemployment, lack of industry, says Tripura Governor

While launching the handloom and handicraft workshops titled Hastkala Sahyog Shivir here at Agartala Lichubagan 'Bamboo & Cane Development Institute on Monday the Governor Tathagata Roy said, “Unemployment has come up as the biggest problem of this state.” Adding to this he said, “Along with this the Tripura is also lacking behind from developing the industry sector here.

” The bad communication system has lead the state lack from industry sector, adding Governor said, “Although the communication system has been upgraded recently in some parts of the state but needs to be upgraded as a whole.” However, Governor Tathagata Roy was accompanied by the DM (West) Milind Ramteke and other officials today.The Ministry of Textiles has sponsored the handloom and handicraft workshops titled Hastkala Sahyog Shivir here along with other states of the nation.

A number of services including issuance of credit facilities through MUDRA scheme, assistance for technological upgradation under Hathkargha Samvardhan Sahayata and access to Common Service Centre facilities will be facilitated through these camps, said the officials here on Monday. However, the camp would continue till October 17 covering three districts of the state which includes West, Dhalai and Unakoti.
